To improve heat detection accuracy, Sabbiona introduced Datamars Livestock’s Active Tag system, using collars on breeding-age heifers. In addition to monitoring activity, health and rumination, the system provides reliable heat detection data that helps the team make more informed reproductive decisions.

The average number of inseminations required per pregnancy has fallen from approximately 1.6 – 1.7 to 1.3 – 1.4, helping the farm maximise the genetic potential of its animals.
