Datamars Livestock introduces the new Tru-Test Dairy Drafter v2.0

Datamars Livestock announced Tru-Test Dairy Drafter, a new automated drafting solution designed to support faster, more efficient dairy operations.

Integrated with Tru-Test Active Tag, Dairy Drafter automatically identifies and drafts cows during normal milking routines, helping farms manage reproduction, health events, treatment groups, and herd movements with greater precision and less manual intervention.

The system is designed to reduce the time and labour traditionally required for cow sorting, allowing farm teams to focus on higher-value management activities instead of searching for individual animals across the herd.

By combining automated drafting with behavioural and health insights from Tru-Test Active Tag, Dairy Drafter transforms herd data into immediate operational action. Cows can be automatically selected based on heat alerts, health notifications, group changes, or customized management lists directly within daily workflows.

Built for demanding dairy environments, the system combines robust engineering with reliable identification technology to support continuous operation across large herds and 24/7 milking systems.

Dairy Drafter also supports animal welfare by reducing unnecessary handling and minimizing disruption to normal herd routines. Quiet operation, soft-close gates, and integrated drafting flows help cows return more quickly to feeding and resting behaviour after milking.

The launch of Dairy Drafter further expands the Datamars Livestock ecosystem of connected technologies designed to help dairy farms improve operational efficiency, herd visibility, and confidence in day-to-day decision-making.
